Our Story
Founded in 2010. Built through real work with real clients across a decade and a half of operational practice.
Grant Smith grew up in Pittsburgh. He founded Prismic Solutions in Washington DC in 2010, built a practice across new media, IT infrastructure, federal program support, and small business consulting, and brought it home. Prismic has been operating in Pittsburgh since 2015.
The early years spanned web design, branding, content management, IT infrastructure, and new media strategy. Alongside that, Grant worked with Maga Design Group on federal Navy and defense programs, building a systems-level perspective on how large organizations actually function under operational pressure.
In 2015, Prismic moved its practice to Pittsburgh, PA. The Pittsburgh period deepened the operational finance focus, with engagements spanning community agriculture, performing arts, healthcare, childcare, event services, and energy. We have migrated accounting systems, cleaned up years of transaction history, managed payroll across multiple states, and built business plans from scratch for founders seeking their first outside capital.
Today Prismic operates across two lanes. The operational finance practice is the foundation. The sustainability consulting practice, informed by a Sustainability MBA from Duquesne University and a genuine conviction that the organizations doing the most important work in this region deserve real financial infrastructure for their impact reporting, is where the practice is headed.
